What To Look For In Nike Football Boots For Kids?
So you have come to this post because you have two interests:
- You are potentially after some football boots for your child.
- You or your kid has a preference for Nike.
While the top brands with football boots are great and each offer their own qualities, I personally prefer Nike.
That doesn’t mean I don’t like other brands, as that’s not the case. I just feel with their boots that they fit my feet better.
These designs are something I can get on board with, and not to mention they are super comfortable to wear, which is a huge factor when it comes to picking boots out.
So, when anyone messages me for help on buying boots. I tell them to consider three things before purchasing.
These three things consist of budget, design, and comfort.
Areas of which I consider when buying all my football boots.
Comfort
I believe there isn’t anything more important than comfort when it comes to football boots.
At the end of the day, whatever boots you pick out, you will be playing for hours in, depending on what level you play at.
So having a pair that is comfortable and won’t give you blisters after each game is somewhat key.
From my experience and from hearing from other players, there are one or two brands that fit you better than others.
Essentially to find a good pair of boots, you need to try all that’s out there.
You may have tried Nike before. If not, that’s fine because the company is great when it comes to returns.
If you decide to order any boots from Nike’s website, they have a return policy of 60 days.
So if you buy boots and find them not to be a great fit, you can just send them back most of the time.
You will then, most of the time, get a refund or, if you found them too tight or loose, either exchange them for a pair up or down.
Design
For me, there is no point in investing in a pair of boots that you don’t like the look off.
So while comfort and budget are important, the design is still key.
Your looking for is a pair of boots that will stand out to you and your child and make you go. Wow, they look awesome.
What is good about Nike is they have some of the best designs you will find on a pair of boots.
With each release, they are constantly switching up the look, the colourways, and patterns.
No two pairs are the same, which means finding a pair that sticks out to you, shouldn’t be too hard a task.
If you through the list of Kids football boots and find that none of them interests you at first glance.
Then the best thing to do is keep looking as you will find one that you like soon.
Budget
Lastly, you have the budget, and this is quite important because it stops you from overspending.
It also helps you narrow down your options quicker, meaning you can find the boots for you faster.
Now what I have always been a fan of when it comes to Nike’s collection of both adult’s and kids’ boots is the tiered system.
These tiers are divided into four and are essentially made for four different budgets.
You can choose the boots you want but also correspond with the budget you have.
Let’s say you want some Nike Mercurial Superfly 7’s Kids, of which the Elite version (the top tier) comes in at £160.
Now, if you’re capping yourself at £70, well, that is completely fine since you can get the same pair for a lower price of around £50 but in the Academy version (3rd tier).
So with the tiers and the boots, I will talk about in this post, you won’t need to worry too much about the budget.
Since there is a version of boots for each price, with 4 available to you.
Top 7 Nike Football Boots That Are Perfect For Your Kid
With all that said and with you hopefully having a good idea of what to look for in Nike football boots for kids, let’s get into the list of best boots I could find.
This list will include seven top pairs of boots that are great for children. For each pair I will also leave a link to check them out, where from there you can change the tier and size.
1) Nike Jr. Mercurial Superfly 7 Kids
First up, we have the pair of boots that I briefly talked about earlier.
These boots are the Nike Mercurial Superfly 7, which come in different tiers.
These, for me, are a great choice of boots.
They feature a really cool colourway with arrows along the side of the boot to symbolize speed.
With Mercurials being designed for speed, these boots certainly show that, and if you are a player who excels in this area, then these could be for you.
They are so good for speeding away from defenders because of a combination of the Flyknit technology and the lightweight forefoot plate.
The flyknit makes the boot light, making get into your stride effortless.
While the forefoot plate has been made to help you accelerate better with the Nike Aerowtrac that was also added to the premier league footballs.
Overall a solid-looking boot and one I could see myself wearing on the pitch.
2) Nike Jr. Phantom Vision
Now, if your kid envisions being the new Kevin De-Bruyne, then the Nike Phantom Visions are a great pick-up for you.
If you want a quality boot that is engineered to help your kid get the best out of their game, this is also for them.
The phantoms, which were introduced in 2020, were created for the attacking midfielder.
They are designed to help you make accurate passes and strikes of the ball with the non-visible laces, which is the Ghost Lace system.
You also have the Flyknit construction, which makes the boot light and comfortable.
All in all, it’s another fantastic pair of boots that offers something different to the mercurials.
3) Nike Jr. Superfly 6 Elite LVL UP
If you want to take your game to the next level, then these Nike Mercurial SuperFlys LVL Up quite literally will.
Designed with a flyknit upper that wraps around your feet, these offer a therefore nice slim fit.
They have integrated into them a popular plate system that helps you grip to the surface your playing on.
As for the colourway, it’s one I do like the look of. You have a predominantly white look and two-colour pattern strips.
One on the back of the boot and the other across the sole, which is stylish, in my opinion.
If your child aims to move to the next level of their football game, these boots will certainly offer that.
4) Nike Mercurial Superfly 8
Up at four, we have the most vibrant Superfly’s on the list, the Mercurial Superfly 8’s.
These come in two different colours.
You have the bright version as pictured above, and you also have a bolder colourway which is mostly black with a pinky yellow swoosh.
Either way, I am a fan of both styles, and I believe they work for a mercurial boot that is supposed to resemble speed.
These mercurials also include the technology I have highlighted with the other pairs.
You have an insole with a cushion to make it comfy for you.
Plus a collar that is dynamic and wraps around your ankle, gives you a tight football boot fit.
5) Nike Jr. Hypervenom III
Despite Nike pulling the plug on their Hypervenom range and turning their attention to their other models, it is still possible to purchase them.
I have worn a few Hypervenoms over the years and what I have noticed is the design does mostly stay the same.
These, in particular, are in orange, metallic silver, and grey color.
This pair is the Nike Hypervenom III’s, which is a boot I still use from time to time myself.
Made for the natural striker, they give you versatility in your game and help you switch up directions effortlessly.
They are one of the most comfortable football boots you can try out.
Since they have a super comfy insole, flyknit technology, and dynamic collar.
Overall a top boot that I am still gutted for Nike stopping them.
The good news is you can still purchase these boots, but I can only imagine they will become scarce to find over time.
6) Nike J.R Phantom GT
If your child prefers pink on their football boots, then the Nike Phantom GT is a great choice with a vibrant and bright look.
These slick football boots are made to give your child a great experience on the pitch.
Thanks to a grippy texture, which has been added to give players a better touch and more control.
Integrated into these phantoms, you also have the traction that allows for fast directional changes due to an improved stud configuration.
I like these because of their unique look, and they look to perform well.
If your child is a fan of these or the other colourway, blue and white, these could be worth a purchase.
7) Nike Jr. Mercurial Vapor
Lastly, we have the Nike Jr. Mercurial Vapors in a bright laser orange and black colourway.
If your child is looking for boots that will stand out on the pitch, then look no further than these.
Like other Merc’s, these look lethal and are pair of boots that will speed up your game, helping your child play faster football.
They are light boots that are designed for higher tempo football. It features a nicely textured upper on the top of the boot, helping players bring the ball down and get it out of their feet with ease.
As I have alluded to which each of Nike’s boots, up to now each is made with comfort and playing experience at the forefront, and these are no different.
Apart from the colorways, the notable difference between these and the Superfly’s is the presence of the collar for ankle support.
So If your child prefers the collar, then the Superfly’s are the best fit. If not, I would recommend the Vapors.
Conclusion
