Whenever someone mentions football boots, the first brands that may come to your mind is likely to be Adidas, Nike and Puma.
That is understandable especially since they are arguably the three of the biggest brands in the world when it comes to sport as a whole.
However, when it comes to football, there are other brands out there that offer some quality football boots.
One of which and I am sure you have been thinking about yourself to be here now is the Mizuno.
Despite having a range of top-boots, including the Morelia and Rebula.
They don’t get the recognition they deserve, with most players you see on TV wearing Mercurials, Phantoms and Copa’s.
Now granted a lot of footballers sign sponsorship deals to these brands, so there is some money involved.
However today I will be talking you through 7 footballers who have decided to go against the norm by wearing Mizuno football boots.
Quickly before I start…
Have you ever wondered what the best football gear and equipment out there is?
Well, here I have made a complete guide on the best stuff, that are worn by pros and will help you on the field.
Table of Contents
1) Ever Banega – Al Hilal
Ever Banega who was one of the best players in the Saudi Professional League in 2020, is a wearer of the Mizuno Morelia Neo II.
The boots helped him in his attacking role for Al Shabab to score 7 goals in 27 games over the season.
Despite being a footballer who wears Mizuno, over previous years at Sevilla and Inter Milan, he has been seen wearing numerous Nike boots, including the Mercurial range.
However, towards the end of his time in Seville, the Argentine made the swap from Nike to the homemade Japan footwear.
2) Hector Bellerin – Real Betis
Hector Bellerin is a player who has gone through his fair share of boots in his career.
Going from Puma to Nike before ending up with Mizuno which he currently wears for Real Betis, the team he has recently joined on loan.
Now studying Hector’s recent boots, he seems to have a preference towards leather.
As the right back over last season was spotted wearing the leather Nike Tiempo silo.
So a change to the Mizuno Morelia III isn’t exactly a big surprise, considering the fact they feel and look similar.
3) Oriol Romeo – Southampton FC
When you think of Southampton, most plaudits will go to Che Adams and James Ward Prowse.
However, Oriol Romeu has been a solid defensive midfielder and somewhat underrated over his spell down south since joining from Chelsea.
It is quite fitting that he has gone with Mizuno, boots that are known for being sturdy therefore suit his role and playing style.
The Spaniard currently wears the third generation of the Mizuno Morelia boots.
4) Jasper Cillessen – Valencia
Back playing for Valencia after a short spell with Barcelona, Jasper Cillesen is a goalkeeper who has been wearing Mizuno football boots.
After an injury during the start of the 2020/21 season, the keeper came back wearing Mizuno after signing a contract with them in March 2021.
This saw him make the switch from Adidas boots.
A brand that he has worn for the majority of his career up to now.
Going back to his early days with Ajax.
